GREENSBORO

VF Internal Audit is located at VF's headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a satellite hub established in Hong Kong. A number of VF Corporation's major brands are based here in Greensboro. For example, the VF Jeanswear Coalition is based in Greensboro. This coalition is comprised of such brands as Wrangler, Lee, American Hero, Timber Creek, Riders, Brittania, Chic, Gitano and Rustler. Our Jeanswear Coalition comprises roughly half of VF's business volume.

With so much going on for VF in Greensboro, you might wonder if we travel to other businesses in the Company. Absolutely! VF has a broad scope of operations, probably the broadest collection of apparel brands in the industry.

We support our Outdoor Coalition; including The North Face, Vans, Reef, Napapijri, Eagle Creek, JanSport and Eastpak and the coalition is headquartered in San Leandro, California. Our new Contemporary Brands Coalition is located in Los Angeles, California, and Portland, Oregon, and includes Seven For All Mankind and lucy. We also support our Imagewear Coalition, led by the Red Kap and Bulwark brands, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. We also operate VF Activewear from Tampa, Florida, and they hold apparel licenses with the NFL, Major League Baseball, Harley Davidson, NASCAR, and other fan-wear.

On the non-U.S front, the audit teams devote about half its time supporting VF's Latin America, Europe, Asia, and India brands of Lee, Wrangler, the Outdoor brands, and others.

Finally, we also support our VF Outlets, headquartered in Reading, Pennsylvania.

In Greensboro, our Internal Audit Hub is comprised of about 25 auditors, including four directors and the Vice President, Internal Audit (see Organization Chart). We come from all parts of the world and our backgrounds are very diverse, including backgrounds in sales, finance, information systems, general management and manufacturing. While many of our operations reside in the North Carolina region, we still travel about 40-45% of the time. Nevertheless, the Carolina's are a wonderful place to return to.

Location, Location, Location

Greensboro is located in the heart of the Piedmont Triad, which is the central part of North Carolina. The Piedmont Triad is anchored by the cities of Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem, and it includes 11 counties.

As you can see, we are close to many U.S. cities. In fact, about 50% of the U.S.population lives within 600 miles of us! Yet the Triad area is a medium sized urban center, with a population of approximately 1.3 million.

While the Triad is bustling with young families, retailers and many college students, each of the three major cities of the Triad maintain their own character. For example, the city of Greensboro has a "small town" feel. Within its limits, there are only about 200,000 residents and you can drive from one side of the city to the other in 20 minutes or less.

Recreation
With its location in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Greensboro has some of the best parks of any city. There are 7 regional parks, in addition to 137 neighborhood parks. For example, Bryan Park features 36 holes of championship golf and is generally regarded as one of the top public golf courses in the country. Hagan Stone Park features camping and hiking trails. Greensboro Country Park includes the Natural Science Center, Planetarium and Zoo. Less than one hour away is the North Carolina Zoological Park in Asheboro which is world reknown for its natural habitats.

Within easy driving distances are the beaches of the Outer Banks to the east (four hours drive), and the ski slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west (two hours drive). For the golfers out there, North Carolina is The Golf State, with Pinehurst only a two hour drive away. But great golf is at your doorstep! The Greensboro area offers 18 golf courses. And in April, the Greater Greensboro Wyndham Classic brings professional golf to the area.

The area offers minor league baseball with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, a Class A affiliate of the Florida Marlins.

Of course, if it's football you desire, the Carolina Panthers play their games in Charlotte, less than 2 hours south, in what many consider the best football stadium in the country. The Carolinas also boast another playoff team, the NBA Hornets. But for the college basketball fan the area is simply "basketball mad". As the headquarters of the ACC, Greensboro hosts both conference ACC and NCAA action at the Coliseum. As you can see, Greensboro is quite a sports town.

Education

The Guilford County School System is the third largest school system in the state of North Carolina. The district is comprised of 14 senior high schools, 17 middle schools, 59 elementary schools and two special education centers.

North Carolina is also the home of a world-class university system. Aside from The University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University; other area institutions include Wake Forest University and Duke University. In Greensboro, we have five colleges, including, The University of North Carolina - Greensboro, Guilford College, Greensboro College, Bennett College, and NC A&T.

In case you were wondering, one of the best things about living in Greensboro is the weather! Greensboro enjoys four distinct seasons, including five snowfalls per year on average. But don't worry, the snow rarely lasts for more than a few days. In fact, it is possible to enjoy most outdoor activities throughout the year.

There's so much more to learn about the area so here are a few links to check out...

HONG KONG

Hong Kong is a regional hub for VF Internal Audit. The Hong Kong factory compliance team covers monitoring of factories producing for VF in Asia/Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Russia. We serve all of our coalitions such as Jeanswear for Lee & Wrangler, Imagewear for Nutmeg & Red Kap, JanSport, Eastpak, The North Face, Napapijri, Vans, Reef, Kipling, etc. outsourcing and licensing programs. We travel very frequently; and so far, 31 countries have been visited in past years.

We are a team of some thirty associates. With the growth of the businesses developing and the third world countries, our footprint will be extending to further corners of the world. We work in parallel with our sourcing teams to support VF's production needs and assure compliance with VF Corporation's Global Compliance Principles.

Hong Kong is a part of Mainland China. It is located in the southeast of China and is situated mostly along the coast. It is comprised of two major islands (Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island) and one peninsula (Kowloon Peninsula), and consists of almost a hundred smaller islands. The total area is around 1100 square kilometers, and the population is around 6.9 million. Cantonese (local dialect) is the language spoken for general communication. English and Mandarin (official language in China) are also spoken in most areas.

Hong Kong is a commercial and metropolitan city where you will easily meet people from all over the world. It is a multicultural city too, where about 5.5% of the population isAmerican, British, Australian, Canadian, Thai, Filipino, Indonesian, Indian, Pakistani, Nepalese, Japanese, Korean etc. The Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok Airport is one of the most modern airports in the world and serves over 15,000 cargo and passenger flights a day. Hong Kong has a natural deep water harbor and a modern container port to provide excellent logistical support for inbound and outbound of cargo activities. There is also a complete underground and ground railway system for inter-city movement and connection to Mainland China. It takes just one hour travel from the downtown to the boundary regions of China or neighbor Macao City.

Hong Kong is a good place for shopping as most consumer products are duty-free. It is also a good place for gourmet, as you can taste the international food with original cooking in most popular places, in particular the " Dim Sum" is a very popular style of cooking that originated in Hong Kong. The seafood market isanother place that you cannot miss. There are lots of interesting places for touring where you can explore the oriental and western cultures and how they amazingly exist together, but not in competition with each other. The night scenery at the Peak is a designated program and must be a part of your journey to Hong Kong.

It is a wonderful place to eat, to shop, to entertain, to work and to know the people. You won't feel lonesome once you step in this city.
